This weekend’s graded-stakes calendar includes the rescheduled Autumn at Woodbine and a test for 2-year-olds in the Bob Hope at Del Mar.
Beyond the light graded schedule are more juvenile events at Aqueduct and Del Mar and the Claiming Crown at Churchill Downs.
Here’s an early look at the likely fields.
Saturday
Autumn (G2), Woodbine, 1 1/8 miles (synthetic), 3-year-olds and up
This race was canceled Saturday after horse fatalities at Woodbine and rescheduled for this Saturday as drawn. Paramount Prince, last year’s 3-year-old champion in Canada, had won two graded stakes at Woodbine before finishing fifth of five as the odds-on favorite last out in the Durham Cup (G3). Never Surprised, who didn’t race last year, was 0-for-6 this year before winning an optional-claiming allowance on Oct. 6. Dresden Row won graded stakes in his last two starts and beat Bail Us Out, also entered here, last out in the Ontario Derby (G3).

Desi Arnaz (listed), Del Mar, 7 furlongs, 2-year-old fillies
Stakes coordinator Ed Reese said he didn’t know how this race would shape up, so the eight nominees are listed here. Tequilaandtherapy just raced Nov. 1, winning the Golden State Juvenile Fillies. Claiming Crown Jewel (restricted), Churchill Downs, 1 1/8 miles, 3-year-olds and up
The highlight of the eight Claiming Crown races drew an oversubscribed field led by Money Supply, who was claimed for $35,000 in August 2023. He won the Mineshaft (G3) in February but is 1-for-5 since and returns to dirt after three starts on turf. Bourbon Day joined Brad Cox’s barn after being claimed for $30,000 in February and has a 5: 2-2-1 record since.
