Fire engulfs Fairfield shopping plaza
Fairfield firefighters responded to a fire on the Post Road Saturday.
It happened at the Heritage Square Plaza at 1700 Post Rd.
Video obtained by News 12 shows smoke engulfed the area as firefighters tried to put out the fire.
One resident told News 12 they were at Hands on Pottery, which is located in the plaza, for a pottery night event and heard the fire alarm go over around 4:25 p.m.
They say the owner went outside, saw smoke and told customers to leave.
Firefighters arrived on scene shortly after.
News 12 has reached out to the Fairfield Fire Department and is waiting to hear back.
