Fantawild Holdings Inc., a leading one-stop solution provider in the theme park industry, is celebrating the launch of the first Boonie Bears-themed shopping mall. The attraction opened in Shenzhen, China, on 26 September.
This new initiative for the animated IP includes retail, entertainment, food, and socialising amenities. The mall seeks to provide entertaining educational experiences for children and their families, in an approach to learning that aligns with the values of the Boonie Cubs animated series.
The mall is designed to provide an exceptional family day out, and its attractions cater for visitors of all ages. It contains approximately 40 different outlets, including an adventure camp, sports competitions, video games, go-karts, a cinema, restaurants, a reading space, and children’s play facilities. Each zone is colour-coded.
A highlight is Boonie Cubs, a 1,600-square-metre indoor playground, where children can participate in activities that promote physical exercise, role-playing, health education, and the use of technology through interactivity. Boonie Cubs playground includes a carousel, stage, and bouncy castle inspired by the film Big Top Secret.
The mall’s launch event was well attended. It featured pop-up attractions which added excitement, such as a 22-metre-long slide and a five-storey climbing platform. One activity invited kids to dress up like adults and role-play as maintenance workers, builders, and firefighters. This type of activity encourages creativity while helping children to learn about different occupations. The event also featured party areas, sand pits, competitions, and films for families to enjoy.
In recent years, Fantawild has worked to drive tourism by utilizing the Boonie Bears IP in a variety of ways. Theme parks like Boonie Bears Land and Boonie Bears Bay have thrived. Looking ahead, the company intends to continue building tourist attractions that engage families while promoting happy and healthy lifestyles.
