The Los Angeles Chargers have been lacking in the wide receiver department ever since Keenan Allen left town. They’ve had some moments from Quentin Johnston this season, but he’s been injured.
The team finally got a WR1-esque performance in Week 8 from none other than rookie Ladd McConkey.
McConkey broke out in a big way in Week 8, leading the position in fantasy scoring. Most intriguingly, McConkey scored both in the red zone, as well as on a huge deep-pass play. We love multi-faceted usage, and we know that rookies tend to see a bump in production after bye weeks.
Will this continue in Week 9 against a Browns defense that’s much stronger on the ground than it is through the air? McConkey’s managers are undoubtedly hoping this performance is just the beginning for the talented rookie.
