Mike Evans has put together a Hall of Fame career, and he’s still going strong this season at 31 years old. Evans has scored at least 23.1 PPR points in three of five games.
But the kryptonite in his career has been the Saints and cornerback Marshon Lattimore, and that’s who Evans is facing in Week 6. I’m not sitting Evans in the majority of leagues, but he’s just a No. 2 Fantasy receiver given the matchup.
In 14 games vs. Lattimore, Evans is averaging just three catches and 52 yards per game, with three touchdowns. And the two have had several altercations resulting in multiple suspensions, which Evans addressed Wednesday.
“I’ve done a bad job in the past of making it go over the play when I shouldn’t have,” Evans said in the Tampa Bay Times. “But I’m more mature now, and our team is focused on playing winning ball. And you can’t play winning ball when you get kicked out and things like that. But I want to have that fire and be physical and a little chirping never hurts. But you definitely have got to be smart. You can’t play winning ball when you get kicked out and things like that.”
For the season, the Saints have allowed five receivers to score at least 12.4 PPR points, and I like Chris Godwin as a No. 1 Fantasy receiver in all leagues. But Evans will have to overcome his history with Lattimore to have an outstanding game.
I’m still starting Evans in Week 6, but I’m lowering my expectations. Now, here are other receivers that I’m starting this week, as well as some others to avoid.
