Now, it’s time for the final offensive skill position — the tight ends.
LaPorta has officially passed Travis Kelce for the top spot after a dominant rookie season in which he caught 86 passes for 889 yards and 10 touchdowns. LaPorta led tight ends in fantasy points a year ago, and should only improve in year two.
Kelce still gets the No. 2 spot as the No. 1 weapon of Patrick Mahomes. He caught 93 passes for 984 yards and five touchdowns a year ago. If the Chiefs can get him a few more red zone looks, he could easily finish as TE1 this season.
Andrews remains the favorite target for Lamar Jackson but just needs to stay healthy. He was involved in a car accident during training camp, but it sounds like he avoided any significant injury. He’s always one of the safest options at the tight end position.
Kincaid is due for a year two breakout now that the Bills traded away Stefon Diggs and let Gabe Davis walk in free agency. There are tons of questions in the Bills’ receiver room, meaning Kincaid should get tons of targets from Josh Allen.
Kittle remains arguably the most explosive tight end in the NFL. His fantasy inconsistency isn’t ideal, but his big play potential in a high-powered offense keeps him as a top-five option.
Pitts (and the rest of the Falcons’ weapons) struggled in Arthur Smith’s offense. However, Smith is gone, and the Falcons have a strong quarterback in Kirk Cousins. After being selected fourth overall in 2021, Pitts is finally ready for his breakout season.
McBride emerged as a favorite target of Kyler Murray a year ago. Look for that connection to continue in what should be another solid season for the third-year tight end.
Goedert has always been a solid fantasy option, and this year is no different. In 14 games last season, Goedert reeled in 59 catches for 592 yards and three touchdowns.
The Raiders selected Bowers with the No. 13 overall pick in this year’s draft. They’ll want to get him involved in the offense any way they can, which should lead to a strong rookie season.
Hockenson will miss some time as he recovers from a torn ACL he suffered in Week 16 of last season. However, when healthy, he’s a top-three fantasy tight end. Draft and stash him, as he could end up being a league winner in the second half of the season.
