Week 1 was certainly rough, but we are now moved on to Week 2 as the Atlanta Falcons are going on the road to face the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s a tough matchup and a tough environment, but anything is possible in the NFL.
With that, we’re taking a look at prop bets for the Monday night contest, and there’s some interesting lines that are likely to pay off. Let’s take a look, courtesy of our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook.
Now I never recommend betting against your own team. For me, it just kinda feels wrong. But if you don’t have that feeling, this feels like easy money. As mentioned above it’s a really tough environment and for Kirk Cousins, he just looked flat out bad last week. Is it possible he improves? Definitely. But I’m just not sure that happens against the Eagles this week.
This is a true toss up. On paper, Cousins should throw for 227+ yards. In his 12 total games against the Eagles, in 11 games he has eclipsed 227+ yards. But he’s on a new team and again, looked flat out terrible last week. The Falcons are going to have to get the passing game going though if they have any shot at competing in this game. I’m cautiously taking the over here.
Again, another toss up. Even in games where he doesn’t win, Cousins usually has at least two passing touchdowns. He’s that kind of quarterback. I can see the Falcons getting back on track with getting play action involved which Cousins historically has been really good at. I’m not saying he throws for four touchdowns, but I could see two.
I think Drake London is incredibly talented, but he hasn’t had consistent quarterback play to date. In each of London’s last five games, he has failed to have 58+ receiving yards in a game. The fan in me hopes he does that on Monday, but until he does it, why should I expect the steak to end? Taking the under.
If the Falcons learned anything last week, it’s that Bijan Robinson is ready to lead this team. Bijan looked quick, shifty, and like someone you can build a team around. As much as they need to get the passing game going, the Falcons know they have a run game that works and I expect they will lean on it for much of the game. Taking the over here.
