What Cleveland Cavs expect in rematch vs. playoff foe Boston Celtics
Here’s what unbeaten Cleveland Cavaliers players expect to gain from a rematch with the defending NBA champion and playoff nemesis Boston Celtics.
Turns out this isn’t the final season of “Inside The NBA” after all.
ESPN announced Monday it will be ‘the exclusive home’ of the award-winning show that features Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Shaquille O’Neal and host Ernie Johnson starting the 2025-26 regular season.
“Inside the NBA is universally recognized as one of the best and most culturally impactful shows in sports,” said Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman, ESPN in Monday’s news release.
“We have long admired the immensely talented team and are thrilled to add their chemistry and knowledge to our robust set of NBA studio offerings to super serve NBA fans like never before. The addition of Inside the NBA further solidifies ESPN as the preeminent destination for sports fans.”
TNT’s “Inside The NBA” is in its final season after the NBA declined an offer from longtime partner Warner Bros. Discovery, which owns TNT, for its 11-year media rights deal with Walt Disney, which owns ESPN, NBC and Amazon Prime Video.
ESPN will televise the pregame, halftime and postgame show of “Inside The NBA” for NBA on ABC, Christmas games, playoffs and finals.
The show will be exclusively on ESPN and ABC platforms. ESPN will also air “Inside The NBA” the first week of the season, all games on ABC after January 1, the final week of the season and “other marquee live events.”
TNT Sports will continue to independently produce Inside The NBA in Atlanta as agreed upon in the deal.
“At TNT Sports, we take great pride in our Inside the NBA show and know its success is both a reflection of the iconic talent on set and the incredible people behind the scenes who consistently demonstrate the creativity and craft of our great team,” said Luis Silberwasser, CEO and Chairman of TNT Sports, in ESPN’s news release Monday.
“We are thrilled to continue to produce Inside the NBA for ESPN and ABC, ensuring fans are able to keep enjoying the magic of this show during the NBA season.”
TNT will televise an ‘exclusive slate,” of Big 12 football and men’s basketball games starting next season as part of the agreement of ESPN and TNT Sports to present the College Football Playoffs, Silberwasser added.
