Erin Andrews has become a sideline staple of Fox’s NFL coverage, but there’s a possibility that could end after this season.
Andrews admitted recently that her current contract with Fox Sports is up at the end of the NFL season.
“I think my goal is always kind of the same as last year. Enjoy it, because it’s not going to last forever, especially when your contract is up — and mine is,” Andrews told Charissa Thompson on the latest episode of their Calm Down with Erin and Charissa podcast.
Andrews’ previous contract ran through 2022 and she re-signed on a three-year deal that July.
“Contract year, huge!” responded Thompson, who hosts Fox NFL Kickoff as well as Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football pregame show.
“So, contract year, election year, and what else is happening?” Andrews said. “I feel like I’m always so panicked leading up an hour before [game day], that I’m trying to recite some of [the information] and have it in my mind so it’s easy to say, which I’m not doing a good job of right now.
“So, I always feel prep is a thing I’m always trying to be really good about.”
While Andrews might quietly re-sign with Fox like she did last time, the landscape is a little different this time around. Prime Video’s propensity to spend on name talent could make them a potential suitor. And the expanded needs of NBC/Peacock, CBS/Paramount, and ESPN/ABC for football reporters could open up a spot for her as well. There’s also the possibility that Andrews could look beyond football for new opportunities in the sports broadcasting world.
Andrews has been with Fox Sports since 2012 and covered the NFL exclusively since 2016. She previously spent eight years with ESPN.
