Between producing season two of hit Hulu series Tell Me Lies and starring in romantic comedy Space Cadet, vintage lover Emma Roberts found time to curate the most perfect collection of designer handbags, jewelry and accessories for luxury resale retailer Fashionphile.
The Hollywood Reporter was able to catch up with the actress and producer during the L.A. event celebrating her partnership with the brand.

The collaboration just makes sense as Roberts has cherished second-hand treasures her entire life. She tells THR, “I’m a collector — that goes for objects, curiosities, dolls, fashion — and so part of it is about the hunt, I like to want to find something … wanting to find something is sometimes more fun than even finding it.”
But that certainly doesn’t mean tracking it down isn’t an absolute thrill. “My most coveted [designer item] is just a classic black Birkin — I’m a simple girl,” she jokes.
“I wanted, ever since I was a kid, a black Hermès Birkin bag. I never thought I would get one … but I actually am now the proud owner of a black Hermès Birkin bag from Fashionphile, and I love her, and sometimes we’re driving in the car together and I look over and I’m like, ‘Where have you been before me?’ and it makes me love her more.”
Roberts’ collection for the retailer, appropriately titled Emma Roberts’ Fashionphile Favorites, includes more than 300 Hermès finds, including a variety of Birkin and Kelly bags. This is in addition to her hand-picked selection of timeless pieces from fashion houses like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior and Cartier.
As for the story behind her prized Hermès bag? “When I picked up my Birkin I was wearing Birkenstocks, and I was like, I think I’m the only person getting their Birkin wearing tan, also used, Birkenstocks.” (She wore them home from set). “That is me in a nutshell, I would say.”
Beyond this partnership, Tell Me Lies season two has been top of mind for Roberts, who executive produces the Hulu series with her production company Belletrist TV. “I’m so excited that people are watching it, and just so happy for the cast and the crew and grateful because it was number one today and I’m really proud of what we did this season.” Between this and her movie Space Cadet, which came out on Amazon this summer, Roberts is “hanging the rest of the year” and focusing on “be[ing] a mom.”
