Emma Raducanu’s earnings from this year’s US Open can now be revealed after her disappointing first round defeat to Sofia Kenin on Wednesday morning.
The Briton had entered the showdown hoping to win a match at Flushing Meadows for the first time since her sensational US Open triumph back in 2021.
But Raducanu was blown away by Kenin, who advanced to the second round with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 win.
It was another setback for Raducanu, who was visibly crushed by her latest defeat.

She sobbed in her post-match press conference while admitting that she should potentially have played more in the build-up to the final Grand Slam of the year.
Raducanu has also pledged to ‘go back to the drawing board’ as she looks to regain the form that catapulted her into the spotlight three years ago.
However, while she lost, Raducanu has banked $100,000 (£75,000) just for playing in the first round.
That, at least, should be of some consolation to the Briton.

Information on the US Open website shows that Raducanu would have earned $140,000 (£105,000) had she won her match with Kenin.
Players who make the round of 32 are entitled to $215,000 (£162,000), while those who make the last 16 are set to pocket $325,000 (£246,000).
Quarter-finalists will bank $530,000 (£401,000), while semi-finalists will earn around $1,000,000 (£757,000).
The runner-up then gets $1.8million (£1.3m), with the winner claiming an eyewatering $3.6m (£2.7m).

Raducanu previously earned $2.5m for winning the US Open in 2021.
She was unseeded that year but defied the odds to etch her name into the history books, with Leylah Fernandez beaten in the final on that occasion.
Speaking after her defeat to Kenin, Raducanu said it was a ‘collective’ decision for her to play just one hard-court match prior to the US Open.
She said: “I would have probably preferred to play a little bit more.
