Heard that East Potomac tennis center is closing on October 1st after 30 years due to issues with the landlord or lease? Any intel?”

East Potomac Tennis Center’s website says:

“Dear East Potomac Tennis Center Patrons,

As you may be aware, NPS is in negotiations with East Potomac Raquet Sports for a long-term lease of the East Potomac Tennis Center.

As Guest Services, Inc. (GSI) continues to operate the tennis center during this transition period without a specific date that the new lease will be signed, we wanted to make you aware of what to expect from the operations.

GSI will continue to book indoor courts and outdoor hard courts as well as lessons through September 30. Outdoor clay courts are closed.
GSI will complete routine maintenance tasks including restroom cleaning, general landscaping maintenance, and trash removal.
GSI will not conduct major repairs nor replace equipment.
This notice will be updated when the new lease is signed. GSI will be unable to book reservations beyond the anticipated lease commencement date.
After the lease has been signed, information will be provided by East Potomac Raquet Sports for future improvement plans.

Thank you for your patronage and support. GSI would like you to know that it has been an honor and privilege to serve you for the past 4+ decades.
