An adult and multiple children were hurt Wednesday in a golf cart crash in Wake Forest.
According to Wake Forest authorities, an unregistered golf cart rolled over on its driver’s side around 4:12 p.m. at a roundabout at Tansley Street and Linslade Way.
Authorities said five children between 5 and 9 years old were injured, and one was possibly on the driver’s lap when the golf cart rolled over.
The children suffered minor injuries and were turned over to “responsible parents.”
Police determined the driver, identified as 38-year-old Elizabeth Ann Prochaska, was impaired during the accident and charged her with DWI, misdemeanor child abuse, failure to register a vehicle and careless and reckless driving.
