Ireland forwards Caelan Doris and Rónan Kelleher are injury doubts ahead of Saturday’s Six Nations clash with Wales, while Iain Henderson and Cormac Izuchukwu are definitely out.
In an squad update on Sunday afternoon, the IRFU said the workloads of number 8 Doris, who has played in Ireland’s last 42 games, and hooker Kelleher are “being managed”.
Captain Doris has a knee injury, while Kelleher has a neck injury.
Ulster duo Iain Henderson (hamstring), who came on as a replacement against England in round one, and Cormac Izuchukwu (ankle) have been ruled out of the trip and will rehab with their club.
Mack Hansen (hamstring) and Joe McCarthy (head) are back in training.
Winger Hansen also played against England but missed the victory over Scotland, while lock forward McCarthy has yet to feature in the campaign.
Prop Tadhg Furlong, who hasn’t played since mid-January, is continuing to make progress, said the union.
The Leinster front row has been hampered with a calf injury.
Gavin Coombes, John Hodnett, Diarmuid Mangan, Stuart McCloskey, Jacob Stockdale and Nick Timoney have all been added to the squad
Ireland lead the table after two rounds and next take on Wales, who have lost their last 14 Tests, before a round-four meeting with France in Dublin on 8 March.
Interim head coach Simon Easterby will name his team to play Wales on Thursday morning.
