President Donald Trump is beginning a very sports-centric Sunday by hitting the links with a golf legend.
According to multiple White House reporters, the president is teeing it up at his course in West Palm Beach with none other than 15-time major champion Tiger Woods.
Trump and Woods go back many years — having frequently played together both during Trump’s first term and even prior to his taking office. In 2019, Trump awarded Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom. And earlier this week, Trump offered public condolences to the golf great on the passing of his mother, Kutilda Woods — who was 78.
“I was just informed that Tiger Woods’ wonderful Mother, Kultida, passed away — She has gone onto greener fairways!” Trump wrote Tuesday on his Truth Social platform. “Kultida Woods was an amazing influence on Tiger, and gave him much of his strength and brilliance. Melania and I send our love and prayers to Tiger and his incredible family!”
Shortly after their round, both Trump and Woods are slated to hit the road. Trump is off to New Orleans — where he will watch Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. And Tiger Woods has just announced he will compete at the Genesis Invitational in San Diego — his first PGA Tour event in nearly eight months.
