The 2024 college season has not gone the way UCLA football or first-year coach DeShaun Foster likely planned it.
The Bruins (2-5, 1-4 Big Ten) won their season-opener on the road against Hawaii before dropping five straight games, including their first four games as a member of the Big Ten. However, the Bruins bounced back last week with an impressive 35-32 road victory over Rutgers.
Now, UCLA heads into its second bye week of the season heading into a pivotal stretch: The Bruins can afford only one more loss this year while still hoping to reach bowl eligibility.

UCLA football is in its second of two bye weeks during the 2024 college football season. The Bruins had their first bye during Week 2 following the season-opening road game at Hawaii.
UCLA will return to action in Week 10 in Lincoln, Nebraska, with a road game against the Cornhuskers. The following week, the Bruins host Iowa in a Friday night contest. UCLA will play five straight games to close out the season, including a fairly manageable three-game stretch — travel-wise, at least — at Washington, vs. USC and vs. Fresno State.
