It was feared but now it’s official: Novak Djokovic (37) will not be playing in the ATP Finals in Turin from Sunday, and his season is therefore over.

Following his withdrawal from the Paris Masters, Djokovic had just one event left to contend with: the ATP Finals in Turin, which he has won seven times and is the defending champion.

Unfortunately, due to injury, he will not be present in Italy and will therefore have to call time on his season.

As a result, Novak Djokovic will have to wait to win his 100th ATP Tour title. More importantly, for the first time since 2005, he will end the season without a single title to his name.

That is the result of a complicated season, in which he was outclassed by Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, and in which injuries slowed him down considerably. At 37, Nole is clearly closer to the end than the beginning.

As far as the ATP Finals are concerned, Sinner, Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev and Taylor Fritz had already qualified. Three places remain, which means that the list of participants will be sealed now.

Casper Ruud, Alex De Minaur and Andrey Rublev will be present in Turin as Grigor Dimitrov, even if he wins the Metz tournament, will not be able to catch up with his rivals.
