A dozen Muskegon-area boys basketball teams will be competing for hardware on Friday after holding on for hard-fought wins in the district semifinal round of the 2025 postseason.
There were blowouts, nail-baiters and buzzer-beaters across the board, as well as some impressive individual performances to help lead the way for several local teams.
Below is a look at how all the Muskegon-area boys basketball teams fared on Wednesday night in the district semifinals.

Muskegon 66, Greenville 43
The Big Reds jumped out to a 31-14 lead in the first half and continued to fend off the Yellow Jackets down the stretch as they secured a spot in their 13th consecutive district championship game under head coach Keith Guy.
Darryl Thompkins Jr. scored 17 points to lead Muskegon, while David Cross Jr. added 11 points, and Elija Langston and Keashaun Johnson each registered eight points.
Braylon Haist scored nine points to lead Greenville, while Zeke Robinet added seven.
No. 4 Muskegon (20-2) advances to face No. 6 Rockford (21-2) on Friday at 7 p.m. for the Division 1 district championship at Reeths-Puffer High School.

Grand Haven 73, Holland 67
The Buccaneers jumped out to a 30-19 lead in the first half but had to fend off a 32-point fourth-quarter effort from the Dutch to secure a hard-fought win in their Division 1 district semifinal matchup.
Will Korenstra finished with 19 points to lead Grand Haven, while Harper Huntington and Will Plummer each added 10 points and Kaden Strong had nine points.
Arthur Powell scored a game-high 20 points to lead Holland.
Grand Haven (18-5) advances to face West Ottawa (12-11) on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Division 1 district championship game at Holland High School.

Rockford 80, Mona Shores 53
The Sailors jumped out to an early 7-0 lead over the state-ranked Rams but couldn’t keep the momentum going for long. Rockford rallied to take a 42-22 lead heading into halftime and continued to pull away as the game wore on to pick up an impressive win in the Division 1 district semifinals.
Freshman guard Eli Wolfe scored 22 points to lead Rockford, while fellow freshman Josh Bascom added 16 points, Dylan Gross had 14 points, including four 3-pointers and Jake Bascom had 12 points.
Senior guard Jordan Bledsoe finished with 19 points and three assists to lead Mona Shores, while Ryan Opsommer added 15 points and three assists, and Landyn Smith had six points and five rebounds.
“While the season comes to a close, it has been one filled with growth, perseverance, and invaluable lessons,” said Mona Shores head coach Louis Murray. “This team showed heart and determination every step of the way, and we couldn’t be prouder.
“A special thank you to our seniors – Jordan Bledsoe, Landyn Smith, and Jonathan Pittman – for your leadership, dedication, and commitment to the program. You have left a lasting impact on Mona Shores basketball, and we are grateful for everything you’ve given to this team.”
Mona Shores finished the 2025 season with an 11-13 overall record.
No. 6 Rockford (21-2) advances to face No. 4 Muskegon (20-2) on Friday at 7 p.m. for the Division 1 district championship at Reeths-Puffer High School.

Oakridge 60, Fruitport 47
The Eagles used a 17-2 run in the first quarter to take early momentum but couldn’t fend off a hot-shooting Trojans squad in the second quarter as they trailed 32-30 at halftime. The two teams remained deadlocked at 42 entering the fourth quarter, but as the game wore on, Oakridge wore down Fruitport and ended the game on an 18-5 run to secure the hard-fought win in the Division 2 district semifinals.
Evan Miller finished with 19 points to lead Oakridge, while Bryson Stephenson added 18 points, Evan Jozsa had 12 points, Michael Wambaugh had six points and Peyton Ruel scored five points.
Sophomore Dexter Lillmars knocked down five 3-pointers to finish with 15 points to lead Fruitport (17-6), while junior DayDay Williams added 12 points, freshman Hudson Hazekamp had nine points and senior Grade Anspach had five points.
Oakridge (17-7) advances to face Spring Lake (12-10) on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Division 2 district championship game at Whitehall High School.
Fruitport finished the 2025 season with a school-record 17 wins and only six losses and captured the first conference championship in program history.

Spring Lake 46, Whitehall 44
The Lakers trailed 34-30 entering the fourth quarter and were down by as many as seven points midway through the final frame before going on a 16-10 run to close out the game.
Spring Lake senior Jaden Core converted an offensive putback with 15 seconds remaining to give the Lakers a one-point lead before the Vikings failed to convert three second-chance opportunities near the rim in the closing seconds of the game.
Whitehall eventually had an opportunity for a game-winning shot with less than two seconds remaining but the long-range heave fell short at the buzzer.
Jaden Core finished with 20 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter, to lead Spring Lake, while Reid Grimmer added nine points and five rebounds, Sam Bajt had eight points and Ayden Ayers registered seven points.
Cam Thompson closed out his prolific prep basketball career with 29 points, 14 rebounds, and two steals to lead Whitehall, while Brock Morningstar added six points.
Spring Lake (14-10) will face Oakridge (17-7) on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Division 2 district championship game at Whitehall High School.
Whitehall finished the 2025 season with a 17-6 overall record.

Ludington 73, Fremont 48
The Orioles held a narrow 27-25 lead at halftime but broke the game open in the second half, as they exploded for 46 points to pull away from the Packers for an impressive win in the Division 2 district semifinals.
Cam Gunsell finished with 17 points to lead Ludington, while Taj Williams added 16 points, Steele Stowe had 11 points and Alex Smith scored nine points.
Mossen Green scored a game-high 20 points to lead Fremont.
Ludington (14-8) advances to face Hart (16-7) on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Division 2 district championship game at Newaygo High School.

Hart 56, Big Rapids 55
The Pirates fell behind 15-4 to start the game but rallied to take a 45-37 lead entering the fourth quarter. The Cardinals continued to fight back into the contest, however, and it took a late layup in transition by senior Avery Guikema to put Hart in front for good.
Caleb Ackley hit one of two free throws to give the Pirates a three-point lead and Big Rapids converted a dunk as time expired to come up short on the scoreboard.
Ackley finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Hart, while Guikema added 13 points, and freshman Kolton Rockwell had 10 points and six rebounds.
Hart (16-7) advances to face Ludington (14-8) on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Division 2 district championship game at Newaygo High School.

North Muskegon 54, Western Michigan Christian 44
The Norsemen used an 18-6 run in the third quarter to pull away from the Warriors, after a 26-26 tie at halftime, and secure their spot in Friday’s district championship game.
Adam Dugener finished with 28 points, four rebounds and three assists to lead North Muskegon, while Braylen Burrell added 10 points, Chuck Meyers had five points and six rebounds and TJ Byard had seven rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
“We took an early lead as we hit some three-pointers against their defense,” said North Muskegon coach Charles Rypstra. “During the second quarter, they switched defenses, and it gave us some fits, plus they got hot from the three-point line. To start the second half, we just shored up the defense and tried to get them off the three-point line.”
Derrick Ashley finished with 13 points to lead Western Michigan Christian, while Gavriel Modderman added nine points and Levi Dutton had seven.
North Muskegon (21-1) advances to face Grandville Calvin Christian (14-10) on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Division 3 district championship game at NorthPointe Christian High School.

LeRoy Pine River 47, White Cloud 29
The Indians put together a strong defensive effort Wednesday night against the top-seeded Bucks but couldn’t create much offensive production as they fell short in the district semifinals.
Jayden Robinson finished with nine points to lead White Cloud, while Coleson Cruzan added seven points and David Higgs had six points.
“Too many missed opportunities to make shots tonight,” said White Cloud head coach Bob Jones. “Offensively, we struggled again tonight and their length had a lot to do with it. We held them in check on defense and it was a 10-point game or less for most of the night. They pulled away in the fourth quarter and our season came to an end. I’m proud of this team, as they fought every night even when we struggled to score. Thank you to our seven seniors – you will be missed.”
White Cloud finished the 2025 season with an 11-13 overall record.

Manistee 50, Mason County Central 35
The Mariners trailed by a point at halftime but caught fire in the second half as they outscored the Spartans 32-16 down the stretch to pull away for a hard-fought win in the Division 3 district semifinals.
Kaden Kott finished with 16 points, four assists and four steals to lead Manistee, while Braylen Zimmerman added 13 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals, Landin Sowa had 11 points and four rebounds and Dayvion Neal-Berry had eight points and seven rebounds.
Cole VanderHaag finished with 11 points and two assists to pace Mason County Central, while Peyton Merz added eight points and nine rebounds and Kyle Peters had eight points and four rebounds.
Manistee (14-10) advances to face LeRoy Pine River (18-5) on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Division 3 district championship game at Shelby High School.
Mason County Central finished the 2025 season with a 13-10 overall record.

Comstock Park 62, Grant 58
The Tigers trailed by four points after the first quarter but used an 18-7 run in the second to take a 31-24 lead at halftime. The Panthers turned the tide in the second half, as they tied the game at 44 at the end of the third quarter and pulled away in the final frame to pick up the upset win in the Division 2 district semifinals.
Blake Rider finished with 15 points to lead Grant, while Zaiden Phillips added 14 points and Jack Swanson had 10 points.
“We needed to be better tonight in several areas, probably including my coaching, but I’m very proud of these guys and the season we had,” said Grant head coach Dan George. “20 wins and the outright CSAA Red champions.”
Grant finished the 2025 season with a 20-3 overall record.

Ravenna 54, Blanchard Montabella 46
The Bulldogs used a 13-4 run in the second quarter to take control of the game entering halftime and extended their lead to double digits after three quarters of play. The Mustangs attempted a late rally but it fell short as Ravenna held for a hard-fought win in the Division 3 district semifinals.
Dylan May finished with 19 points to lead Ravenna, while Brady Karchinski added 13 points and James Lemkie and Shea Iwaniw each scored eight points.
Ravenna (11-13) advances to face Kent City on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Division 3 district championship game at Lakeview High School.

Muskegon Catholic Central 60, Grand Rapids Sacred Heart 38
The Crusaders outscored the Falcons 43-9 in the second and third quarters to take complete control of their matchup and cruise ahead into Friday’s district championship game.
Bradley Richards finished with 31 points, 14 rebounds and five assists to lead Muskegon Catholic Central, while Bryan Convertini added seven points, nine rebounds, five assists and five steals. Quinn Swanson recorded nine points, five rebounds and four assists, and Adam Lamach had five points and six rebounds.
“Tonight was a good win over a well-coached Sacred Heart team,” said Muskegon Catholic head coach Andre Zackery. “Thanks to a good close-out at the end of the second quarter and a big third quarter, we are set up for a meeting with Muskegon Heights on Friday for the (district) championship.”
Muskegon Catholic Central (11-9) advances to face Muskegon Heights Academy on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Division 4 district championship game at Fruitport Calvary Christian High School.

Muskegon Heights Academy 77, Hudsonville Libertas Christian 45
The Tigers opened the game on a 25-9 run and continued to cruise past the Phoenix on Wednesday night for a convincing win in the Division 4 district semifinals.
Jamarion Taylor finished with 35 points, including 16 in the first quarter, to pace Muskegon Heights, while Robert Wallace added 14 points.
Muskegon Heights (10-10) advances to face Muskegon Catholic Central (11-9)
