5-star Caleb Wilson is one of the final pieces that head Kentucky coach Mark Pope is looking to lock up in the 2025 recruiting class. Many recruiting experts have already predicted he would land as a Wildcat and play his college ball for Pope next season. However, the newest speculation is that he could have already signed with Kentucky, but it has yet to be announced.
This is nothing more than speculation right now, but it’s coming from various accounts that aren’t known for trolling or throwing around nonsense, and thus, it’s something to keep an eye on.
The first question many ask is, “Then why hasn’t it been announced?” The question has some validity, but recruiting has changed since the NIL. According to ESPN, A.J. Dybantsa signed with BYU in November before he announced it weeks later. There was some thought that Caleb Wilson was also waiting for Dybantsa to sign before he chose a school. Some thought it might be because there was concern he would choose North Carolina, which Wilson was also interested in, or maybe because he wanted to know the dollar amount, aka the market for top recruits via Dybantsa’s deal. It could have even been a mix of both deals.
If this is to be believed, after Dybantsa committed, signed, and made it public, Wilson then signed with Kentucky but has also kept it under wraps. It would be huge for Kentucky if this speculation turned out to be a reality. One X account has even noted that Trilly Donovan, a hoops insider, is the one who first mentioned this. However, where that came from is hard to validate, as Donovan is currently on X probation right now after his account was hacked.
This page will be updated with any future information as soon as it becomes available, but for now, you can file it away in the speculation pile and pick it back up when there is more validity to the reports.
