Cade Cunningham on most impressive part of Pistons 20-game hot streak
Cade Cunningham after Pistons beat Bulls, Feb. 2, to move above .500. “Playing a good brand of basketball is a lot of fun. I think the fans enjoy watching it.”
Dennis Schröder and the Detroit Pistons were involved in the multi-team trade which sent Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors.
Schröder was rerouted from the Warriors to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night, and then to the Pistons as the deal was finalized Thursday.
The 31-year-old point guard, who is averaging 14.4 points, 5.5 assists per game this season, knows all about the Pistons’ dramatic turnaround this season. After all, he was a part of the Toronto Raptors team which lost to the Pistons last season, ending Detroit’s 28-game losing skid.
The Pistons, who only had three wins at the time, snapped the losing streak with a 129-127 win at Little Caesars Arena.
Schröder finished the game with 30 points and nine assists, shooting 11 of 18 from the field and 3 of 6 on 3-pointers.
Before that game, the Pistons already had set the NBA’s single-season record for consecutive losses and tied the all-time record set by the Philadelphia 76ers across the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.
Schröder is from Braunschweig, Germany, and represents Germany in national competition, including at the Olympics.
He is on an expiring contract worth $13 million.
In 2024 the Pistons finished their season with a 14-68 record and are making significant progress this season sitting at 25-26 as Friday afternoon.
