CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Denison University women’s golf team slotted in at No. 20 in the Division III Mizuno Women’s Golf Coaches Association 2024-25 Preseason Coaches Poll announced on Friday.
Denison collected 135 points to earn a spot in the top 25 rankings.
A pair of teams who Denison topped at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational this past weekend were also ranked in the poll. Methodist is tied for 17th while Randolph-Macon just snuck in at No. 25.
The Big Red opened the season in style by putting together a strong round Sunday to take home the team title at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole event was hosted at the Denison Golf Club. The victory marked the best finish for the Denison women in the season-opening tournament since the 2013-14 season.
Ella McRoberts led the Big Red by tying for third place in the season-opening event. The senior carded a score of 75 in each round to finish with a 36-hole score of 150.
The next Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll will be released on Friday, October 4.
Denison returns to competition at the Wisconsin Whitewater Invitational at TPC Wisconsin on Sept. 22-23.
