Slovakia – Chile: 15.09.2024 05:00 CEST
H2H: 1-0
Jozef Kovalik – Alejandro Tabilo
Jozef and Alejandro are the best ranked players for Slovakia and Chile. This meeting will be played indoors on hard. Jozef Kovalik has lost his last seven matches. In his opening match against Germany, Jozef lost against Hanfmann in three tight sets. Today, against the USA, Jozef lost against Nakashima in straight sets as we predicted. Tabilo played great on the clay and grass court part of the season. However, in this second part of the season, Tabilo underperformed. In his opening match against the USA, Alejandro lost against Nakashima in three tight sets as we predicted. After that, Tabilo lost against Hanfmann in straight sets.
We believe that Tabilo is currently a better player than Kovalik. Tabilo played better tennis throughout the whole season, so we believe that he will be able to get the job done tomorrow.
That being said, we believe that Tabilo will get the first win for Chile.
Lukas Klein – Nicolas Jarry
Lukas and Nicolas are the second best ranked players for Slovakia and Chile. Klein has lost four of his last five matches. His opening was against Marterer, here at the Davis Cup, where he lost in straight sets. Today, against the USA, Klein lost his match against McDonald as we predicted. Nicolas Jarry has lost seven straight matches. His last win was in Rome in May, when he lost in the final against Zverev. His last match was at the US Open, where he lost against O’Connell in the first round in four tight sets.
Jarry is currently struggling with his form. However, we believe that he will get his chance for Chile against Klein tomorrow. He is overall a better hard-court player than Klein. He is out of form, but we believe that he will step up for Chile, and win this match.
That being said, we believe that Jarry will win the second match for Chile.
Gombos/Klein – Barrios Vera/Tabilo
We expect Slovakia and Chile to play their doubles matches like this. Gombos and Klein lost their opening Davis Cup doubles match against Krajicek and Ram in three tight sets. They played solid tennis together. Barrios Vera and Tabilo also played a lot of matches together. They won the title this year in Santiago on clay. However, they usually underperformed on the indoor courts.
The Slovakians will be better players under these conditions. Tabilo and Barrios Vera would have had a big chance if they had played on clay. However, the indoor fast conditions will be the perfect conditions for the Slovakians.
We believe that Gombos and Klein will get the first win for Slovakia.
The Slovakians have no top 100 players in the singles’ competition right now. The Chileans currently have better singles players, so we believe that their singles players will prevail in this matchup.
Chile winning 2-1 is a value bet.
