Germany – Chile: 12.09.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 1-2
Yannick Hanfmann – Alejandro Tabilo
Yannick and Alejandro are the best ranked players for Germany and Chile. This meeting will be played indoors on hard. Hanfmann failed to qualify for the US Open this year. Yesterday, against Slovakia, Hanfmann faced Kovalik and won in three tight sets. Alejandro Tabilo lost in the first round of the US Open in the first round in straight sets. Tabilo played great on the clay and grass court part of the season. However, in this second part of the season, Tabilo underperformed. Yesterday, against the USA, Alejandro lost against Nakashima in three tight sets as we predicted.
We believe that Tabilo is currently a better player than Hanfmann. Tabilo played a solid match against Nakashima. We believe that he will win comfortably against Hanfmann.
That being said, we believe that Tabilo will get the first win for Chile.
Maximilian Marterer – Nicolas Jarry
Maximilian and Nicolas are the second best ranked players for Germany and Chile. Marterer lost in the first round of the US Open against Zverev in four sets. Yesterday, against Slovakia, Maximilian won against Klein in straight tight sets. Nicolas Jarry has lost seven straight matches. His last win was in Rome in May, when he lost in the final against Zverev. His last match was at the US Open, where he lost against O’Connell in the first round in four tight sets.
Jarry is currently struggling with his form. However, we believe that he will get his chance for Chile against Marterer tomorrow. He is overall a better hard-court player than Marterer. He is out of form, but we believe that he will step up for Chile, and win this match.
That being said, we believe that Jarry will win the second match for Chile.
Krawietz/Puetz – Barrios Vera/Tabilo
We expect Germany and Chile to play their doubles matches like this. Krawietz and Putz have been playing together for a long time now. Last week, the Germans played in the US Open final, where they lost against Purcell and Thompson in straight sets. Yesterday, against Slovakia, Krawietz and Putz won their doubles match in straight sets. Barrios Vera and Tabilo also played a lot of matches together. They won the title this year in Santiago on clay. However, they usually underperformed on the indoor courts.
The Germans will be better players under these conditions. Tabilo and Barrios Vera would have had a big chance if they had played on clay. However, the indoor fast conditions will be the perfect conditions for the Germans.
That being said, we believe that Krawietz and Putz will get the first win for Germany.
The Germans are without Zverev, so they will have it hard this year at the Davis Cup. The Chileans currently have better singles players, so we believe that they will prevail in this matchup.
That being said, Chile winning 2-1 is a value bet.
