Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant is known for his comments and antics on the field of play. He’s almost never away from the action is often heard chirping in his opponent’s ear or making hilarious comments, be it while batting or wicket-keeping.
And in the recently-concluded first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai, Pant was in some form, scoring a terrific century in India’s second innings. Pant scored an effortless century (109 off 128) at Chepauk on Day 3, striking at 85.16. He hit 13 boundaries and four sixes in his sixth Test century for the Men in Blue.
In the midst of it all, he came up with the jokes and the laughs as well.
Pant was seen helping Bangladesh set the correct field against him in a hilarious interaction. He was heard instructing the opposition captain to place the fielder at the correct spot which went viral.

Speaking to media outlet JioCinema after India’s win against Bangladesh in Chennai, Pant recalled the moment from the Test.
When asked about the same, Pant quipped that it was to the betterment of the game overall. He said that the fielder was in an incorrect position, and he couldn’t help but intervene.
“Cricket should get better whether our team plays or opponents plays (with laughs) so I saw the fielder was not standing at the right position then I corrected it & set the field for them,” Pant stated.

Rishabh Pant helped the Bangladesh bowler and captain in setting the correct field while batting on Day 3 of the first Test in Chennai. He asked the bowler to rightly place the fielder at mid-wicket, and bowler obliged to his instructions.
“Arey idhar aayega ek! Bhai, ek idhar. One fielder here (at) mid-wicket,” Pant told Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto.
