With both quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb having signed massive contract extensions in 2024, the Dallas Cowboys will need to find a way to upgrade the positions around them.
Going into the 2025 season, Dallas’ next best WR to Lamb is Brandin Cooks, who is set to hit free agency with his current contract having expired at the end of this past season.
Could Jerry and Stephen Jones look to make a serious upgrade to the WR room?
Bleacher Report’s Maurice Moton listed potential landing spots for Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp if he were to leave LA in the offseason. Rumors swirled midseason about the Super Bowl MVP being traded when the Rams began the season 1-4.
Moton listed the Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Texans, Los Angeles Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers as top destinations for the 31-year-old out of Eastern Washington.
In listing the Cowboys, Moton mentioned Kupp as a replacement for Cooks.
“Kupp could be Dak Prescott’s reliable short-to-intermediate target to move the chains, just as Cooks was for the last two years,” Moton said.
If the Rams decided to move on from Kupp, cutting him would involve a $22.3 million dead cap hit, making a trade the more likely outcome.
