Gov. Josh Shapiro has proposed a $51 billion dollar budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. Tax revenues to support his big spending plan rely upon legalizing corner store gambling and marijuana as means to generate income for the state.

To garner support for his plan, the governor is dangling the proverbial carrot on a stick by advertising incentives like $10 million to help first time homebuyers “build generational wealth.”

With dollars signs for eyeballs, the governor’s short-sighted approach could increase revenue next year, however over the long term his plan is a degenerate proposal for the future generations of families and businesses in the keystone state.
