Today, Congressman Brian Jack led a bipartisan majority to pass H.J. Res. 20, a joint resolution that repeals a regulation imposed during the Biden Administration that would ban non-condensing tankless water heaters manufactured in Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia at Rinnai America Corporation’s manufacturing facility, which employs over 300 workers.

The bipartisan vote in the House of Representatives was 221-198.  210 Republicans and 11 Democrats voted for the legislation.

Congressman Jack said, “On behalf of my constituents, I am proud to have led the effort to pass this critical legislation, which repeals the Biden-Harris Administration’s job-killing regulation imposed on the specific water heaters manufactured in our Congressional District,” said Congressman Jack.

The regulation was announced the day after Christmas, during the midnight hours of Joe Biden’s presidency, putting the livelihoods of hundreds of my constituents in peril during the holiday season.  With today’s bipartisan vote, we will save hundreds of manufacturing jobs in the Great State of Georgia.”

Congressman Jack used the authority given to Congress under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to repeal this regulation.  The CRA enables Congress to disapprove of any rule or regulation announced by the Executive Branch within 60 legislative days.  The Biden-Harris Administration imposed this regulation on December 26, 2024 – the day after Christmas.

Rinnai America Corporation is headquartered in Peachtree City, Georgia, and, in 2022, it opened its manufacturing facility in Griffin, Georgia, where it produces non-condensing tankless water heaters.
