MARLBORO COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – More jobs are coming to Marlboro County.
That’s thanks to AAC East, an autoclaved aerated concrete producer, expanding its existing operations in the county.
“Creating better opportunities for our citizens and providing jobs for our community shows that Marlboro County is rolling up our sleeves and getting the people’s work done,” Marlboro County Council Chairman Anthony Woods said. “Actions speak louder than words, and the proof is in the pudding. Congratulations to AAC East on a great announcement today [Wednesday].”
AAC East’s $6 million investment will create 25 new jobs, according to a news release from the South Carolina Governor’s Office.
“We are proud to see AAC East continuing to invest in our state,” Gov. Henry McMaster said. “The company’s $6 million expansion in Marlboro County underscores the strength and potential of South Carolina’s rural communities, and we congratulate AAC East on this announcement.”
The expansion is already complete, and anyone interested in working for AAC East can apply in person. The facility is located in Bennettsville at 166 Industrial Lane.
According to the news release, the Bennettsville facility provides autoclaved aerated concrete “blocks and panels to customers across the eastern U.S.”
