Martavis Bryant is getting another chance in the NFL.
The Washington Commanders signed the veteran wide receiver on Tuesday even though he hasn’t played in the NFL since he suited up with the Raiders for eight games during the 2018 season.
Kicker Ramiz Ahmed was released to make room for the 32-year-old wideout, the team announced.
Bryant was productive after being drafted by the Steelers in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft, catching 57.8% of his passes for 1,917 yards with 17 touchdowns.
But he was suspended for four games in 2015 and all of the 2016 season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
He caught 19 passes for 266 yards with the Raiders in 2018 but has since played in lesser leagues with the Massachusetts Pirates of the Indoor Football League and Vegas Vipers of the XFL.
He also signed with the Toronto Argonauts and Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League, but never actually suited up in a game.
He spent time on the Cowboys’ practice squad in 2023 but didn’t see any game action.

Travis Kelce has rebutted claims that the Kansas City Chiefs rested starters in their final game of the regular season in order to deny the Cincinnati Bengals a
