Duke went down 17-0 to UNC in the first half and at Wallace Wade, mind you. Things were not looking very good.
The Blue Devils rallied in the second though and took a 21-20 lead in the fourth quarter. UNC got the ball back with less than 2:00 to go and tried to drive. They got roughly half way down the field before Duke intercepted the ball with about :30 seconds left to play, thus preserving the comeback victory and bringing the Victory Bell home after a long absence.
With the win, Duke moves to 5-0 and is nearly bowl-eligible. UNC drops its second straight, this one possibly more dispiriting than the massive loss last week to James Madison. It’s going to suck on Franklin Street tonight.
We’ll have more later! Go Duke!
