Week 13 of the 2024 season could signal a seismic shift in the college football landscape. Saturday’s action featured three ranked matchups and several more that will ultimately affect the College Football Playoff.
In a week when No. 1 Oregon was idle, Saturday’s action began in Columbus, Ohio as No. 2 Ohio State hosted No. 5 Indiana, which entered the week with an undefeated record. While the Hoosiers struck first, the Buckeyes proved to be far too much to handle, dominating their way to a 38-15 statement victory.
Elsewhere in the top five, No. 3 Texas took care of business at home with a 17-point win over unranked Kentucky while No. 4 Penn State escaped Minnesota with a one-point win. Outside of the top five, things began to get chaotic.
At Yankee Stadium, No. 6 Notre Dame handed No. 19 Army its first loss in dominant fashion, likely ending the Black Knights’ chance at a surprise run. No. 7 Alabama wasn’t as fortunate as it managed to score just three points in a 21-point road loss to unranked Oklahoma.
No. 9 Ole Miss had more success on the offensive end but suffered the same fate, losing on the road to unranked Florida by a touchdown. The road woes impacted even more ranked teams as No. 14 BYU fell to No. 21 Arizona State, No. 15 Texas A&M suffered an overtime loss to unranked Auburn and No. 16 Colorado lost to unranked Kansas.
With just one final week of regular season action to go, there is set to be plenty of movement throughout the Top 25 polls. Here is how the Coaches and AP Top 25 polls look headed into Week 14 of the college football season.
