A Big Ten football season unlike any other, with teams on both coasts of the country, has come to an end.
Oregon’s 45-37 victory against Penn State in the Big Ten championship game in Indianapolis wrapped up a 13-0 season for quarterback Dillon Gabriel, coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks, who will almost certainly be the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff, as the lone remaining undefeated team at the FBS level.
Once there, Oregon won’t be alone. The Nittany Lions team it defeated in the Big Ten championship is almost certain to be there, as well. Ohio State, with a 10-2 record, is widely regarded as a safe inclusion, too, as is Indiana, with an 11-1 record.
