College football geniuses, hopeless romantics, lucky dogs and fellow sports donks, it’s time to join Joe vs. the Pro and the Hero and take the 6-0 Challenge.
Last week we had over 700 entries for the 6-0 Challenge, but only two people hit paydirt with the parlay. It just goes to show how difficult it is week-to-week to be a certified college football genius. The brains of the bunch for Week 3 were Terry Whitefield and WilleBama. Both went 6-0 against the spread and their names will now live in sports glory for eternity.
Joe reached out to both winners, and heard back from WilleBama. WilleBama’s government name is William Hicks. William is originally from Dothan and grew up an Alabama fan. After a long career in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, William retired in the Dominican Republic. He’s now living it up in paradise and getting ready for another big weekend of college football from abroad.
Saturday’s lineups of games are a good mix of epic heavyweight battles and intriguing storylines. The headline is No.2 Georgia at No.4 Alabama. Will coach Kirby Smart baptize new Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer in the rugged ways of the SEC, but will Alabama’s new coach make his first big statement? At Auburn, the Tigers welcome Oklahoma to the Plains for the Sooners for away game as a member of the Southeastern Conference. In Birmingham, ever-faithful UAB gets a visit from undefeated Navy, which upset nationally ranked Memphis last week.
And don’t forget about Gus Bus vs. Coach Prime. Don’t look now, but Gus Malzahn at Central Florida has a path to the College Football Playoff. Let’s get to it!
