A long list of important college basketball games played have shifted the landscape late in February, allowing the Top 25 to take on a new look entering the final weeks of the regular season.
With big wins and big losses from teams in the AP Poll, top to bottom there will be movement in both directions as the voters look to balance which results carry the most weight based on previous perception and new data.
With movement everywhere, here is a predictive look at what the 2024-25 AP Poll Top 25 could look like on Monday.
1. Auburn (Last Week: 1)
Auburn holds onto the top spot in the predicted AP Poll Top 25 once again thanks to a 2-0 week which started with a win over Arkansas and ended against Georgia. The Tigers maintain a significant lead over the field.
2. Florida (Last Week: 2)
Florida also held serve in the SEC, beating Oklahoma convincingly in the midweek slate before taking care of business against LSU. The Gators project to hold their lead over Duke for the second spot, after tying just a couple weeks ago.
3. Duke (Last Week: 3)
Duke kept winning games as well, beating Virginia early in the week before a big win over Illinois in Madison Square Garden. The Blue Devils have few resume-building games left in ACC play, but also few opportunities to slip up.
4. Houston (Last Week: 5)
Houston picked up two more wins to build its resume and create cushion atop the Big 12 standings, beating Arizona State before knocking off Iowa State in a Top 10 showdown.
5. Tennessee (Last Week: 6)
Tennessee got to rest through the bye week, setting them up for a strong performance and a road win against Texas A&M which could help move them up the board in the Top 25 this week.
6. Alabama (Last Week: 4)
Alabama dropped a second-straight game, falling against Missouri in the midweek slate. However, the Crimson Tide bounced back in convincing fashion against Kentucky to prevent a significant slide in the AP Poll projection.
7. St. John’s (Last Week: 10)
St. John’s looks to move up in the AP Poll Top 25 this week after picking up a win over UConn in their only game of the week. The Red Storm continue to cement their place atop the Big East standings on the way to unprecedented success.
8. Michigan State (Last Week: 14)
Michigan State had the best week of any team in the country, starting with a win over ranked Purdue before going on the road against in-state rival Michigan to take over the top spot in the Big Ten standings.
9. Iowa State (Last Week: 8)
Iowa State started the week with a win over Colorado, but then went into the weekend and took a loss against Houston to move them further away from the conference title picture. The loss does not project to have a serious negative impact on their AP Poll position though.
10. Texas Tech (Last Week: 9)
Texas Tech dropped a road game against TCU early in the week, which could hurt the chances they remain inside the Top 10 of the AP Poll this week. However, a bounce-back win over West Virginia could lessen the blow.
11. Texas A&M (Last Week: 7)
12. Clemson (Last Week: 18)
13. Wisconsin (Last Week: 11)
14. Michigan (Last Week: 12)
15. Maryland (Last Week: 20)
16. Missouri (Last Week: 15)
17. Kentucky (Last Week: 17)
18. Marquette (Last Week: 16)
19. Purdue (Last Week: 13)
20. Arizona (Last Week: 19)
21. Memphis (Last Week 22)
22. Louisville (Last Week: 25)
23. St. Mary’s (Last Week: NR)
