SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – Many gathered at Warren Golf Course on Tuesday in support of Coaches vs. Cancer sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
Coaches show their support for the organization by wearing suits with tennis shoes.
This year, $485,000 was raised for the American Cancer Society, which surpassed last year’s amount by $65,000.
Notre Dame head basketball coach Micah Shrewsberry was at the event.
“That makes it a little more personal, right? Each of us, every single one of us has been affected by it,” Shrewsberry said. “So, we want to do more, we want to help as much as we can. But even if you haven’t been, this event is a chance for you to do something.”
Coaches vs. Cancer has been around since 1993.
