CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women’s basketball team announced its 2024-25 #HLWBB schedule Wednesday, featuring a 20-game Horizon League slate.
The Vikings, who enter the 2024-25 campaign as the reigning #HLWBB Regular Season champions, finished with a program record 18-2 league mark last season en route to capturing the team’s first-ever regular season title. Overall, the Vikings finished the year with a 29-6 record – the third straight 20-win season.
Cleveland State will open this year’s league slate with a pair of home games to begin December, hosting Northern Kentucky on Wednesday, December 4 and IU Indy on Saturday, December 7.
After traveling to Wright State on Monday, December 16, the Vikings will close out the calendar year at home, hosting Milwaukee on Sunday, December 29.
Cleveland State will begin 2025 with a pair of road contests, traveling to Oakland on Friday, January 3 and Detroit Mercy on Sunday, January 5. The Vikings will return home for their first of just two home contests during the month then, hosting Purdue Fort Wayne on Sunday, January 12.
Following a two-game roadswing to RMU (Wednesday, January 15) and IU Indy (Saturday, January 18) the Vikings will host Youngstown State on Thursday, January 23. To close out the month, the Vikings will travel to Green Bay on Thursday, January 30.
Cleveland State will start the month of February at Milwaukee on Saturday, February 1, before returning home for a two-game homestand against Detroit Mercy (Thursday, February 6) and Oakland (Saturday, February 8).
The Vikings will then travel to Northern Kentucky (Wednesday, February 12) and Purdue Fort Wayne (Saturday, February 15), before closing out the month with three straight home games against Green Bay (Wednesday, February 19), Robert Morris (Saturday, February 22) and Wright State (Wednesday, February 26).
The final regular season contest for the Vikings will be at Youngstown State, with the final matchup set for Saturday, March 1.
Cleveland State will be under the direction of seventh year head coach Chris Kielsmeier for the 2024-25 campaign, and will welcome back nine players from last season’s #HLWBB Regular Season Championship team, including reigning Horizon League Player of the Year Colbi Maples and Newcomer of the Year Mickayla Perdue. This core group will be joined by five newcomers, including a trio of transfers and two true freshmen for the upcoming season.
