CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb met with Haslam Sports group Monday about the future of the Browns stadium.
According to a representative from the City of Cleveland, the meeting was part of ongoing negotiations about the Browns stadium.
The city also released the following statement:
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine spoke with Cleveland Browns owners, Jimmy and Dee Haslam, Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb and Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne last month to discuss the future of the Cleveland Browns stadium.
Statement from Cuyahoga County:
Executive Chris Ronayne met with Governor Mike DeWine yesterday and discussed several high-level topics including storm response and recovery, and his position on the renovation of the Cleveland Browns stadium. Cuyahoga County supports keeping the Cleveland Browns where they belong, in Downtown Cleveland. The renovation of the current stadium is the fiscally responsible choice for county residents and supports the region’s long-term economic and development goals.
The conversations happened one week following the Haslams’ letter to fans, which also included renderings of a domed stadium in Brook Park.
