CLEVELAND, Ohio – Following in her teammate’s footsteps from last year, Elizabeth Coleman had a fabulous golf season for Highland.
Isabella Goyette was the 2023 cleveland.com girls golfer of the year, now Coleman is the 2024 cleveland.com girls golfer of the year.
The junior finished just three shots shy of winning the OHSAA Division I state title last month at NCR Country Club in Kettering.
“I am so happy to have earned the cleveland.com player of the year. It’s an exciting award to get and I’m proud to know that all the hours on the range practicing and with my coach, Mike Emery, are paying off,” Coleman said.
Coleman was 25th at state (155) as sophomore. This year, the Ball State recruit finished with a 146 on the NCR Country Club – North Course, and helped her team to finish fourth.
She finished first at the Fox Den sectional with a 67 (35-32). At the district tournament at Brookledge, she was fourth with a 74 (36-38).

Kayla Knaze, Magnificat, sophomore
Knaze finished seventh at the Division I state tournament with a 151, helping the Blue Streaks win the state title. Knaze finished tied for fifth with Cammy Reed (75) at the Big Met sectional. The two were tied at fifth again (75) at the Brookledge district.
Cammy Reed, Magnificat, senior
Reed finished eighth (152) at the Division I state tournament. She was fifth at the Brookledge district (75) and runner-up at the Big Met sectional (72). Last season she was ninth at state for Magnificat’s runner-up team. She was 27th as a sophomore and tied for 23rd as a freshman.
Gianna Reginelli, St. Joseph Academy, senior
Rgeinelli shot a (76-72) 148 to tie for fourth at the Division I state tournament. She finished tied for third (37-37) 74 at the Big Met sectional, and shot a (36-39) 75 to tie for fifth at Brookledge district.
Serena Wu, Solon, junior
Wu finished an excellent year by tying for fourth in the Division I state tournament with a (72-76) 148. She was first at the Old Avalon sectional (72) and first at the Brookledge district (70). She was 19th last season at state.
