Nebraska football made the Top 5 for 2026 three-star tight end Mason Bonner earlier this week. He announced his list on Saturday morning. Minnesota, Michigan, Texas Tech, and Miami were the other schools on his list in addition to the Huskers.
Bonner had 21 receptions for 340 yards and seven touchdowns last season, according to statistics from Maxpreps.com. He also was able to play on the defensive side of the football, recording four tackles and three hurries last season.
Bonner measures six feet six inches and weighs 200 pounds. Nebraska football has been diligently working on the 2026 recruiting class over the past couple of weeks. They have extended offers and scheduled visits with some of the nation’s top recruits.
The tight end position is particularly noteworthy, as they have been able to make some inroads with 2026 tight ends Lincoln Watkins and Luke Sorensen. This class focuses on this position.
The 2026 class ranks 39th in the country with three commitments, per the 247Sports Team Rankings.
Bonner is a rising, talented prospect. It will be interesting to see how the Huskers approach this recruitment, with several other tight end prospects also on the radar.
