Class 4A football program bounced from playoffs for AHSAA transfer violation
Fultondale has forfeited three games and been placed on probation for a violation of the AHSAA Transfer Rule.
The Wildcats will miss the Class 4A playoffs. The AHSAA announced the news Wednesday night.
Fultondale forfeited region wins over Hamilton, Fayette County and Cordova, dropping its overall record to 3-6 and its Region 5 record to 2-5.
An AHSAA release said the Wildcats played ineligible players, who were assessed restitution for the contests they participated in while ineligible.
The Fultondale forfeits move Fayette County into the playoffs from Region 5 along with Good Hope, Dora and Hamilton. The 2024 playoffs open next week.
In the last week, the AHSAA has announced violations for Coosa Christian and Pike Liberal Arts.
