CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — The phased opening of the Clarion Travel Plaza continues, with the latest addition, Jimmy John’s, selling out on its first day of operation.
According to a representative from GJAMS Holdings, LLC, Jimmy John’s opened on July 30th and experienced high demand, selling out all prepped food early and having to close for the day. This follows the successful opening of Dunkin’ Donuts, which opened about two weeks ago.
The next phase of the opening includes the convenience store section, which will open on August 1, said the representative.
Back in the food court, Fatburger is set to open on August 5, followed by Sbarro on August 8. The gas station portion of the travel plaza is expected to open in about two weeks.
The plaza, originally tentatively slated to open on July 10th, has been opening in stages, with significant progress visible in construction and setup. Located at Trinity Point along State Route 68, just off Interstate 80 Exit 62, the travel plaza has been under development since December 2022.
According to GJAMS Holdings, the plaza aims to employ approximately 40 people, half of whom will hold full-time positions. Initially, the plaza will operate from 4:00 a.m. to midnight, with plans to transition to 24/7 operations in the future.
