CLEMSON — Clemson basketball landed its third player in the 2025 class on Sunday with the addition of four-star power forward Chase Thompson.
The 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward from Alexandria Area High School in Alexandria, Minnesota, is rated as the No. 3 player in the state and a top 200 player in the country by the 247Sports Composite. Thompson announced his commitment on X, formerly known as Twitter, and said, “Blessed to be a Tiger.”
Thompson chose the Tigers over Iowa after taking an official visit on Sept. 21. He joins four-star combo guard Zac Foster and three-star forward Trent Steinour as members of coach Brad Brownell‘s 2025 class, which ranks sixth in the nation per 247Sports Composite.
Thompson’s commitment comes after Brownell received a contract extension from Clemson this summer. With the addition of key transfer portal players and the 25th-best recruiting class in 2024, the 15-year Tigers coach looks to lead his team back to the Elite Eight after it made its first appearance at that stage in 44 years.
