The Rawalpindi Stadium was one of the recent venues to crop up in Pakistan. Established in 1992, in the lead up to the 1996 World Cup, the stadium has a capacity of 15,000.
Renovation work at the Pinid Stadium also went ahead in full swing in the lead-up to the Champions Trophy. The Pindi Stadium last hosted an ODI match in April 2023. In fact, since 2010, it has only hosted five one-day internationals. The venue hosted Test matches against England last year.
The stadium has hosted numerous international matches, including Test, ODI, and T20I games. Over the years, it has undergone renovations to improve facilities and enhance the spectator experience.
Rawalpindi will host its first match in the Champions Trophy 2025 on February 24 when Bangladesh take on New Zealand. Pakistan play one game at the venue while it has a big-ticket game between Australia and South Africa.
