The Boston Celtics earned a tough home win against the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves Sunday afternoon. With a 107-105 win, Boston moves to 17-3 in the standings.
Minnesota was one of the league’s best teams last year, and came within a few games of facing off with the Celtics in the NBA Finals. With All-NBA guard Anthony Edwards at the helm on offense and Rudy Gobert anchoring the defense, the Wolves put opponents to work on both ends. This was true Sunday afternoon, as Boston and Minnesota went back and forth, neither team capable of building and maintaining much of a lead. Derrick White gave the Celtics a late boost with 10 points in the fourth quarter to go with a few big defensive plays. It was just enough for Boston to secure a victory.
