Celtics’ Payton Pritchard on the NBA Sixth Man of the Year race
When the Boston Celtics media hype machine began the season suggesting that backup Boston point guard Payton Pritchard could be a serious candidate to win the NBA’s 2025 Sixth Man of the Year award, plenty of people were understandably skeptical. But fast forward to the present, and the West Linn native now finds himself the leader in the race to win the coveted full season award.
Speaking to the media after a recent Boston win, the man himself took the podium and shared his thoughts about the award race. “It’s really out of my control,” explained Pritchard. “If I get voted for that and receive the honor, that would be incredible. But I’m not going to chase it or try to pad my stats.”
