Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics overcame a 17-point deficit Sunday against the Milwaukee Bucks after a fairly slow start to the game.
Tatum took a shot from Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo on a three-point attempt during the third quarter. The referees did not make a call that would have sent Tatum to the free-throw line and potentially assess a flagrant foul to Antetokounmpo.
The Celtics star, while he remained composed on the court, aired his frustrations postgame.
“I get my fair share of techs throughout the season,” Tatum told reporters, per NBC Sports Boston. “Rightfully so, unrightfully so. Certain calls I feel like you can’t miss. Your job is to protect the guys on the court. Protect the shooter. That’s something I could have been out for six weeks. For it to be a no-call, let alone to be able to review it or look at it. If I lose my (expletive), cuss somebody out, then I get a tech. It’s like a double whammy. That (expletive) is frustrating.”
“Smfh,” Tatum added on X. “Some calls you just not supposed to miss.”
