Aaron Rodgers’ future with the New York Jets is now official.
Fox NFL insider Jay Glazer reported Sunday that the veteran quarterback will not be back with the franchise next season. That leaves the future of Rodgers’ NFL career in flux. The Super Bowl winning quarterback could simply retire, or he could try and sign with a new team.
But one NFL insider was confident that Rodgers wouldn’t be taking another snap for the Jets after the 2024-25 season months ago.
CBS NFL insider Jonathan Jones left no uncertainty during his November report on the Jets’ firing of general manager Joe Douglas: the new regime would not be relying on Aaron Rodgers next season.

“If you think he’s back for the Jets next year, JB, I have a bridge to sell you,” Jones told CBS host James Brown during The NFL Today last year.
Jones has earned a victory lap for this one. The Rodgers saga will be one of the biggest stories this offseason, and he had a beat on it before the regular season had even wrapped up.
