Qatar Airways loves to stand out from the crowd — especially when it comes to business class.
The Doha-based airline has announced that from Thursday, August 15, it will become the only airline to serve caviar in business class when passengers on 13 of its routes will get to enjoy the expensive and exclusive delicacy.
“The introduction of caviar service, commonly available only in first class cabins, further elevates Qatar Airways’ award-winning business class experience,” said Xia Cai, senior vice president of product development and design at Qatar Airways.
Here’s more on how you can enjoy caviar when flying Qatar’s business class.
For some, eating caviar on a plane is the pinnacle of in-flight luxury. So much so, that some frequent luxury travelers would go as far as to say that first class isn’t first class without caviar.
Hot Tip:
With Qatar’s introduction of the lavish dish in business class on some routes, its soft product offering soars to the next level of luxury in the same way that its QSuite hard product is a cut above the rest.
Starting August 15, business class passengers flying between Doha (DOH) and the following global cities will get to enjoy caviar on their flights: Boston (BOS), Dallas (DFW), Hong Kong (HKG), Houston (IAH), London (LHR), Los Angeles (LAX), Melbourne (MEL), New York (JFK), Paris (CDG), São Paulo (GRU), Singapore (SIN), Sydney (SYD), and Washington D.C. (IAD).
The news comes just weeks after the airline unveiled its next-generation QSuite cabin which is set to grace our skies at the end of 2025 when the airline takes delivery of the hotly anticipated Boeing 777X.
Bottom Line:
Whether you’re a caviar fanatic or don’t get what all the fuss is about, by offering caviar in business class, Qatar is aiming to raise the bar even further and set itself even further apart from the competition.
Qatar Airways business class passengers are in for an extra treat from August 15 when menus on select routes will feature caviar — a dish historically only associated with first class.
It will be interesting to see whether the airline decides to roll-out caviar on all business class flights, or whether it will remain exclusive to certain ‘premium’ routes.
