LAUREL, Mont. – The Carroll College Golf teams wrapped up final round play at the 2024 Beartooth Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the Laurel Golf Club.
The Carroll Women finished fourth place in the team competition with a three-round total of 1053 (+189) (361-338-354).
The Fighting Saints placed three individuals inside the Top-20. Stella Claridge (Kalispell, Mont. / JR) paced the Saints, finishing No. 13 with a three-round total of 257 (+39). Ellie Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / FR) finished one stroke behind Claridge at 258 (+40), good enough for No. 14. Her twin sister Alli (Murtaugh, Idaho / FR) finished T-17, going +49 for the event (265).
Lauren Mayala (Billings, Mont. / FR) shot 276 for the tournament (+60), and Lindsay Cook finished at 280 (+64) to round out the Carroll five.
On the Men’s side of the action Carroll also grabbed a fourth-place finish in the team competition, finishing with a three-round team total of 961 (+97) (323-313-325).
Jackson Hammond (Scottsdale, Ariz. / SO) led the way for the Saints, finishing T-16 with a three-round total of 238 (+22). Tanner Cromwell (Anaconda, Mont. / FR) was one shot off Hammond’s pace, firing 239 for the week (+23) for a solo No. 18 finish.
Kyle Kennah (Laurel, Mont. / FR) had a good showing in his hometown, as the freshman ended up at 242 for the event (+25), narrowly missing a Top-20 finish (21).
TJ Fierling (North Bend, Wash. / SO) finished at 242 (+26) and Hudson Reinke (Filer, Idaho / FR) rounded out the Carroll five with a three-day 248 total (+32).
Host school Rocky Mountain College won both the Men’s (879, +15) and Women’s (951, +87) team events.
MSU Billings’ Orraya Tipasathien won the Women’s medalist honors, firing a three-round total of 230 (+14), while Rocky’s Kristjan Burkelca won the Men’s individual competition at 211 (-5), the only player to finish sub-par for the tournament.
A third-consecutive event is on deck for the Saints next week, this time in their own backyard. The Saints will host the Carroll College Invitational on October 7 and 8 at Bill Roberts Golf Course.
