Filipino qualifier Alexandra Eala reached the second round of the Canberra Open by beating Austrian qualifier Sinja Kraus 6-2, 6-4 at the Canberra Tennis Centre on Tuesday.
Eala, ranked No 147, will face the winner of the match between Dutchwoman Arianne Hartono and Hungarian Anna Bondar, the second seed, next.
